Violence against women remains a persistent global and local challenge, despite efforts from various stakeholders, including governments and non-governmental organizations. Approximately one in three women worldwide, or 736 million, have experienced intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both.
This study aimed to investigate the impact of violence against women on community development in Kisarawe District, Tanzania. A descriptive survey design was employed, involving 40 respondents. Data was collected through structured and semi-structured questionnaires and interviews. Quantitative and qualitative analysis was applied to interpret the data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that violence against women has a profound impact on community development, particularly in terms of poverty.
